Eric Cutler WAS the president of M&M Entertainment and BarMitzvahs.com from 1996 to 2010.
In 2010 Eric Cutler was asked to resign by his partner Nick after a Bar Mitzvah client found out that Eric Cutler forged his check using photoshop to embezzle monies from M&M Entertainment DBA BarMitzvahs.com Inc. If Eric Cutler did not resign Nick and "The Client" were going to the FBI.
THE ERIC CUTLER SCAM:
As M&M Entertainment's salesman, Eric Cutler was asking Florida Bar and Bat Mitzvah Entertainment clients to pay cash deposits in exchange for discount Florida Bar and Bat Mitzvah Entertainment packages. Eric Cutler would pocket the cash deposits, and create a check using photo shop, that included the clients name, address, and forged signature. The account number was not correct, nor was bank. The check was forged by Eric Cutler, and emailed to Nick (Eric Cutler's Partner and VP) along with the executed Bar Mitzvah Entertainment contract. The check was all Nick had to see in his email, to confirm the Bar Mitzvah was booked, and Eric Cutler's 10% commission was due. Nick trusted that Eric was making the bank deposits, and did not review bank statements to confirm he was.
It was only when an M&M Entertainment Bar Mitzvah Entertainment client called to cancel a Bar Mitzvah Entertainment contract (after observing Eric Cutler's poor MC performance at a recent South Florida Bar Mitzvah) that Eric Cutler was caught, and his scam was out in the open. If Eric Cutler's partner Nick was not answering the phones that day, when "The Client" called M&M Entertainment to cancel the Bar Mitzvah, Eric Cutler would of continued his fraud scam and forgery.
Nick mailed a $350 company check to "The Client" that canceled the Bar Mitzvah party. When "The Client" received the M&M Entertainment refund check, "The Client" called M&M Entertainment, and told Nick he wanted the $350 cash he gave Eric Cutler, and not the M&M Entertainment refund check. Nick emailed "The Client" the $350 deposit check Eric Cutler emailed Nick, and "The Client" confirmed that the check Eric Cutler emailed was a forgery, and a federal crime. "The Client" is an attorney, and planned to call the Secret Service in the morning. Nick asked "The Client" to call Eric Cutler to get back his $350 cash, and to let Nick use the Eric Cutler Scam, and threat of an Eric Cutler arrest, to have Eric Cutler resign immediately. "The Client" agreed. "The Client" met Eric Cutler at the Town Center Mall in Boca Raton, Florida, and Eric Cutler gave "The Client" back his $350 cash, that Eric stole from M&M Entertainment. "The Client" returned M&M Entertainment's $350 check to Nick, saying that it was not Nick that had his money, it was Eric Cutler.
"The Client" suggested Nick review every Bar Mitzvah Entertainment client's deposit check that Eric Cutler emailed him, to confirm that the checks are not a forgery. "The Client" told Nick that "This isn't the first time your partner has stole from your company"
